IM a AskEHBL Librarian
Pronounced "Askable" Librarian, I thought it would be catchy and unique. We get about 10 IMs per month(as of November 2006) since we started in August 2006. We support AIM, MSN, Yahoo! Most of the monitoring is done through Meebo.

We use Trillian which supports AIM, Yahoo Messenger, MSN. We started last fall. Most of our students use AIM, some use Yahoo and some use mobile access. Students who use it are very pleased.
Schenectady County Community College
Ask a Librarian
This is a web-based virtual reference service using Question Point - 24/7, not IM. SCCC provides chat and e-mail reference in cooperation with Hudson Valley Community College.
Stony Brook University Libraries
Ask A Librarian Our IM reference statistics have increased substantially since we added Qwidgets to several of our library's web pages. It is most helpful on the page that is displayed when Article Linker can't find a match. We use Question Point.
Stony Brook University Health Sciences Library
IM A Librarian We use Trillian, a free multi-client IM server, and have IM accounts w/ the "big three" IM clients--AIM, Y!M, and MSN.
SUNY Old Westbury
Several Librarians are creating individual Web pages as the College struggles with issues concerning Web site access. I have installed Meebo on the sidebar of the Business Reference site. Several other librarians are planning to do something similar in the near future.
SUNY Oswego
Ask Penfield
Users of AIM, MSN, and Yahoo can contact a reference librarian. We use Trillian to simultaneously connect to all three accounts.
SUNY Potsdam
Chat with a Librarian We are now up on MSN, Yahoo, GoogleTalk, and AOL, and use GAIM to receive messages and manage multiple identities.
Westchester Community College
Harold L. Drimmer Library

Use AOL IM, MSN and Yahoo! Messengers. Faculty, staff, and students can get help finding information by sending an instant message to the location listed on the Library's website.

Jefferson Community College offers an IM reference service too. It's not well used even though we try to make it well known that it is available. Maybe we should get on My Space!
